About the Role

We are seeking a Business Development Officer to foster sustainable business growth by developing new business opportunities, ensuring platform metrics are consistently met, and building long-term strategic relationships with brands and online marketplace platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Account and Online Marketplace Management

  • Develop online tactics and joint business plans in line with corporate and brand objectives.
  • Monitor the execution of promotional activities with partnered online marketplaces, ensuring sales targets and budgets are met.
  • Ensure platform fulfillment rate metrics are met and coordinate with operations on delivery concerns (e.g., wrong items, damaged goods, expired products).
  • Negotiate and build strategic partnerships with brands, platforms, and suppliers for sustainable growth.
  • Utilize data analytics to make informed decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to increase category distribution or product availability with partnered platforms.
  • Resolve client issues and act as a liaison between customers and GDEC internal teams.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments to deliver excellent end-to-end customer service and respond to market trends and needs.
  • Achieve GDEC’s monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales targets.
  • Generate leads for potential platform partnerships and participate in prospective client meetings.

Operations and Supply/Demand

  • Ensure healthy inventory levels through regular purchase orders and joint forecasting with partnered online platforms.
  • Deliver excellence in supply (high availability to purchase), operations (coordinating delivery), digital activation (encouraging brand participation on the platform), and category leadership to grow the business on assigned platforms.

Other Responsibilities

  • Submit weekly reports as requested by management.
  • Perform other functions and activities as assigned, based on business demands.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Digital Commerce, or a related discipline.
  • At least 2 years of sales experience in the Consumer Goods industry.
  • Proficient in both spoken and written English.
  • Knowledgeable in digital commerce routes to market, e-distributor management, and supporting payment and last-mile delivery negotiations.
  • Understanding of category management and leadership.
  • Fluent in both English and Filipino.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
