Job Summary:
The Inventory Control Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to optimize inventory and maximize service levels. This role requires a seasoned professional with a proven track record in demand planning, supply chain planning, inventory management, and logistics. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, and will thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Supply Planning:
- Develop and implement supply planning strategies to meet business objectives.
- Create and manage inventory plans based on demand forecasts, sales trends, and product capacities.
- Collaborate with procurement, fulfillment, and commercial teams to ensure alignment with supply plans and inventory levels.
Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory levels across all locations to ensure optimal stock levels.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Implement best practices to reduce excess and obsolete stock.
Demand Forecasting:
- Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and customer demand patterns to develop accurate demand forecasts.
- Work closely with the commercial team to incorporate promotional activities and brand launches into demand forecasts.
- Adjust supply plans based on changes in demand and market conditions.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of supply planning and inventory management.
- Utilize data and analytics to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Lead cross-functional projects to optimize supply chain operations and reduce costs.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive supply planning and inventory reports for top management.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure targets are met.
- Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
- Develop strategies to mitigate supply chain risks.
Vendor and Supplier Management:
- Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to manage vendor relationships and performance.
- Negotiate terms and agreements with suppliers to optimize inventory levels and costs.
- Ensure timely and accurate receipt of goods from suppliers.
Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supply planning and inventory professionals.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Provide training and development opportunities to enhance skills and capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in any course.
- At least 2-3 years of experience in logistics and warehousing inventory management.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledgeable in SAP, WMS, and Exceed systems.
- Ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
