Senior Business Development Officer
JOB SUMMARY:
As a Senior Business Development Manager within the Emerging Channels team, you will play a pivotal role in managing & enhancing our B2B relationships with our Tier 1 - Priority FMCG brand customers as well as our B2B platform customers like Shopee Supermarket, LazMart, Edamama, Sari-Suki, PandaMart & other GDEC B2B customers. You will be responsible for ensuring seamless execution of brand strategies, timely inventory management & successful product launches across these platforms. Acting as the primary liaison between our brand partners & the B2B online/offline/omni-channel platforms, you will drive collaboration & communication to maximize sales & brand presence in the online space
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop & implement strategic initiatives to maximize sales & growth opportunities both for the brands & the platforms
- Collaborate with brand partners to execute brand strategies effectively on the platforms.
- Ensure the timely execution of brands’ promotional activities on the platforms
- Inventory Management: Ensure adequate inventory levels are maintained to meet the customer demand & prevent long delivery lead time & stockouts.
- Ensure platform fulfillment rate metrics are met (Order Fulfillment rate) and diligently coordinate with operations all concerns regarding deliveries (Wrong Item, Damaged, and Expired)
- Performance Analysis: Monitor & analyze sales performance metrics, identifying trends & opportunities for maximization.
- Cross-functional collaboration within internal & external stakeholders: Work closely with internal & external cross-functional teams such as Operations, Finance, & Commercial, to ensure alignment & seamless execution of plans & strategies.
- Resolve any issues and problems of our clients (Brands/Platforms) and act as the key point between our customers and GDEC internal teams.
- Negotiate trading terms with customers to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Achieve GDECs Monthly/Quarterly/Yearly sales targets
- Generate leads for possible platform partnerships and participate in prospective client meetings.
- Submit weekly reports as may be requested by the management.
- Performs other functions and activities, whether related or unrelated to the position, which may be assigned from time to time as dictated by business demands.
- Other tasks that may be given from time to time.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Management, Marketing or related discipline
- At least 3- 4 years of demonstrated account management experience in FMCG or E-commerce industry. Or someone with proven successful track records of growing & developing customers/businesses in GDEC
- Knowledgeable in managing e-commerce platforms/marketplaces
- Proven experience in business development, account management
- Experience in managing FMCG brands
- Understands E-commerce, metrics, activations and tools.
- Strong understanding of e-commerce platforms & B2B business dynamics (a plus)
- Proficient in Microsoft functions (Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent communication & negotiation skills
- Familiarity with inventory management & e-commerce analytic tools
- Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze data & identify opportunities
- Can handle high-pressure situations, remain calm under stress, and effectively manage time and resources to meet critical deadlines.
- Can attend to multiple priorities simultaneously, with the ability to prioritize and manage workload effectively to ensure all objectives are met.
- Possesses strong problem-solving skills and is solution-oriented, with the ability to identify issues, develop effective solutions, and implement them to improve processes.
